The Ocean in Mom's Kitchen

Today we were spoiled with fresh seafood in Trout Lake at Mom and Dad's.  As a thanks for allowing a "masterhunter" to hunt elk on their property, he gave my parents 36 oysters and a bag of clams, as his day job is raising them in the Puget Sound for restaurants.  Dad masterfully shucked all 36 oysters leaving 7 on the half shell, while I marinated and deep fried the other 29.  Chef Sierra made the exquisite steamed clams in a white wine sauce, while Mom supplied the semisweet white wine from Hillsboro Oregon along with Blue Sky Bakery French Bread.  Sometimes, one just feels really spoiled in life...today was one of those days.  Thanks Mom and Dad.  Love you.
